Angella Christie
"Humble Beginnings… The Journey Continues"

What do you do when God calls you and the record companies don’t?
I couldn’t neglect the calling like Nike, I just did it.

Angella Christie posed that question in 1996 as she made her debut to the gospel music industry with her freshman release Eternity (AIR Gospel). Branded as the silent songstress, she spent nine years prior to becoming an “artist” traveling the church circuit earning the humble reputation of “the girl that plays with her shoes off.” No road managers or record companies, no role models or mentors, she didn’t know much about the industry of gospel music but found her voice within the serenity of ministry. “Apprehended by this gospel,” Angella was determined to become the world’s greatest gospel saxophonist, compelling people to worship the God that apprehended her at 17 years old. Testing the tide of her calling and convictions, the tenacious teen recorded her first “LP’ and sold 1,000 units.

The daughter of missionary parents, Angella began her musical journey with a $300 saxophone purchased at a local pawnshop in Houston, Texas, where she attended the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. Upon graduating from Houston Baptist University with dual degrees in Social Work and Music, she established Angella Christie Sound Ministries and recorded four independent releases “Because He Lives”, “Rejoice”, “It Is Well”
and “Walk With Me”.

Angella left Houston with her older brother serving as her covering and sound engineer relocated to Detroit for two years and then on to Atlanta. Forfeiting any kind of social life, she faithfully loaded up her mini van, “Silver D” with her sound equipment traveling sometimes all day and night to share her hope with undaunted faith at Sunday Morning Worship services, Sunday Night Broadcasts, Wednesday Evening Mid-Week services, Thursday Night Prayer services, Friday Night Deliverance services, Revivals, Convocations, Conventions and wherever and whenever the saints congregated…Whew!! No wonder she plays Great is Thy Faithfulness with such conviction.

Faith to Faith, Glory to Glory Not exhausted, just a little weary, but no less infused by her evangelistic efforts, one night Angella knelt beside her bed and sought the Lord for ways to reach even more people, more efficiently; to be in more than one place at a time. God did what only He could do. Without ever having heard or seen her play, Alan Freeman, President of Atlanta International Records (AIR Gospel) signed Angella in 1996 releasing “Eternity” and “Hymn and i”. In 2004, Angella obtained national distribution and independently launched ACSM Music releasing “Draw the Line” and her latest release “The Breath of Life”.

Her national platform was greeted with overwhelming success, positioned her on major religious and mainstream platforms and garnered copious media coverage. As a three-time Stellar Award Nominee, performances throughout the United States and in Japan, Uganda, South Africa, Nigeria, Germany, London, Bermuda and the Caribbeans, Angella Christie is the first internationally acclaimed gospel saxophonist in the world. She has established a successful 21-year ministry and has garnered a presence and reputation as one of gospel music’s greatest ambassadors.

Angella reinvented ACSM to where Sound no longer signified just performance quality but now represents sound doctrine as well. The silent songstress breaking her silence, steps boldly into the stiletto heels of ministry CEO, executive producer, author, Bible teacher and psalmist.
