Riding high on the success of her chart-topping new single “He’s Done Enough” (currently the most heavily added song in the country according to R&R / Billboard radio airplay charts), Beverly Crawford is regarded as one of the world’s premier vocalists. Ebony Magazine says “… Beverly Crawford is one of the truly great voices of our times!”
Best known for her classic hits “Praise Jehovah” and “Jesus Precious King”, JDI takes Beverly straight to church and delivers with a project that is well worth the wait! Considered a “singer’s singer” by her peers, for her amazing ability to deliver both traditional, hard-hitting songs and soft, melodic ballads alike, Beverly Crawford’s powerful new CD & DVD captures the essence and anointing that is Beverly Crawford!
Distributed worldwide by Sony BMG Red, “Live from Los Angeles” features guest appearances by Ricky Dillard, Edwin Hawkins & Moses Tyson. Recorded live at Faithful Central Church, Bishop Kenneth C. Ulmer, Crawford says “… it’s always been a dream of mine to record live in Los Angeles, every since the heyday of gospel back with the late great James Cleveland. So you can’t believe my excitement when God divinely connected my path with LA-based JDI Records and we were able to make my dream come true. My husband Todd & I have been totally immersed the last several years pastoring & building our church in my hometown of Gainesville, FL and I had passed on so many recording offers. Likewise, JDI Records wasn’t actively looking to add any more artists to its roster. Yet God, in his infinite wisdom, did a holy hook-up and I am so excited about this project – I believe it’s the best one I’ve ever done!”
Produced by Grammy-nominated producer Professor James Roberson & Michael Bereal, “Live from Los Angeles” is literally chock full of hits from beginning to end. From the straight-up church classic “He’s Done Enough”, to the beautiful ballad “I’m Still Standing” , the irresistible groove “God Has Been Good To Me” featuring Ricky Dillard, to the remake of Beverly’s classic “Praise Jehovah”, “Live from Los Angeles” is simply put, Beverly Crawford at her signature best!
Hailing from Gainesville, FL, Beverly Crawford began singing at the age of 3 & joined her sisters as part of the Camps Sisters. In the late 1980's, her husband Todd recorded a homemade video & submitted copies to several gospel labels, with BET’s Bobby Jones Gospel the only one responding. Highly impressed, Dr. Jones invited Beverly & her sisters to sing on his show & after about a couple of visits, Dr. Jones invited Beverly to join his group New Life. Beverly stayed on BET for over 6 years, where she was a fan favorite every week.
In 1995, Beverly Crawford began her solo career with the release of “Jesus, Precious King” on Warner Alliance. Subsequent releases included the 1998 “Now That I'm Here”, which was nominated for a Grammy Award & included the hit title song "Just As Soon (I'll Be Shouting)”, the 2001 studio album entitled “Beverly” on Dexterity Records (the label of the prominent minister Bishop T.D. Jakes), and 2003’s “Live Family and Friends”, which included the hits, "Higher in the Lord" and featured guests Bobby Jones, Shirley Murdock & Melvin Williams of the Williams Brothers.
